
Honesdale, PA – (October 30, 2025) — Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC) celebrated six new graduates – the largest class yet — of its medical assistant training program with a ceremony on October 29th at the Hamlin Family Health Center. Graduates’ family members, preceptors and coworkers also attended the virtual commencement. WMCHC has been offering this unique educational / employment opportunity in partnership with the National Institute for Medical Assistant Advancement (NIMAA) since 2022. Students are offered externships, skill labs, free tuition and employment with WMCHC during an eight-month training period. Online instruction is conducted through NIMAA. MAs are required to pass a certification exam and remain employed by WMCHC for 18 months to qualify.
